si`Rev Ricky Lee, Pastor

 

Rev. Ricky Lee was born and raised in Waverly, Tennessee. (Humphreys County). He went to Waverly Central High School graduating in 1976. He went to work after high school before attending college. He attended APSU in Clarksville, Martin Methodist College in Pulaski and Candler School of Theology (Emory University). Ricky is married to Rhonda Lee and they have two children Ryne Paul (who is a UMC pastor in Dover, Chelsea Chantal (who is a Kindergarten teacher in Smyrna). They have 4 grandchildren, Riley, Logan, Riannan, and Ketch. Ricky was born into a pastor’s home Rev. Paul Lee, mother Roberta Lee in Waverly. His grandparents James and Gertrude Lee were pastors in the Church of God of Prophecy. Ricky has 4 brothers, two of which are ordained UMC pastors. Ricky was ordained as an Associate Member (Deacon) in the UMC in 1994 and has served the UMC beginning this year for 37 years. He has served in small rural churches and medium size churches throughout the Tennessee Conference, along with serving in the Caney Fork River District as District Leadership Strategist for 2 years before coming to Trinity. In his responsibility as DLS, he helped 110 churches in the District to develop plans for growth and evangelism while working with their pastors to strengthen their gifts.

Ricky is a passionate sports fan supporting the Chicago Cubs MLB team, Green Bay Packers & Tennessee Titans NFL teams, Nashville Predators NHL team, but mainly the Tennessee Volunteers football and basketball teams. Not only is Ricky passionate about sports, but he is passionate about serving Christ and helping others develop a relationship with Jesus. Ricky never meets a stranger. He loves to sing, play his guitar, and share Jesus. He has a deep love for all kinds of music. As far as church music, he loves to blend traditional with contemporary styles.

Ricky believes great things are ahead for Trinity UMC. He says, “The location is great, the people are great, but more importantly, our God is great!” If anyone were to choose to worship with us, you will be treated just like a part of the family.

 

Lynn McGill, DIRECTOR OF Music

Lynn McGill received his B.S. in Music Education at Middle Tennessee State University and his Master of Music Education + 45 hours at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He  studied at  Master’s level study with Donald Neuen, DMA, currently retired Prof @ UCLA and Choral Director at the Crystal Cathedral with Dr. Robert Schuller. Lynn’s additional studies include Eastman School of Music, Musicologist, Julius Herford,  Robert Shaw, Southern Methodist University, George Peabody College, Furman University, and the University of Illinois.
 
Lynn has been choral director at churches in Manchester, Shelbyville,  Oak Ridge, Athens, Knoxville, and Franklin, Tennessee. Early in his career, he directed the University of Tennessee Women’s Chorus, and served. and as graduate assistant to Director of Choral Activities, Ambrose Holford. He was Department Chair, Director of Choral Activities, and Associate Professor of Music at Tennessee Wesleyan University in Athens.Tennessee.
 
Founder of the Athens Area Council for the Arts, he founded and conducted the Athens Area Community Chorus. Lynn was Associate Director and Board Member of the Knoxville Community Chorus, and was also a member of the Knoxville Choral Society and Opera Chorus., and has served on the Tennessee Arts Council Advisory Board.
 
In recent years he has been a member of the Nashville Symphony Chorus, the Belle Voci  Chamber Choir of Belmont University, Brentwood United Methodist Church Chancel Choir, BUMC Men’s Ensemble, and the Harpeth Valley Sacred Harp Singers.
 
He is a life member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) , and is a Tennessee Past President.
 
Lynn and wife Linda make their home in Franklin. They have four adult children and three grandchildren.
